Post a paragraph get a critique.

 6/14 Passion: fix the World.

Theme : the beast from the wild will be led by a child.

Premise: What if the Cosmos began sending children so exceptional, the course of mam kind was re: arranged for the better.

Protagonist: ? Mam needs a flaw.

6/14- Comos: Its the cosmos + You. You are not alone.

6/15 James Patterson thinks children taught to read well, will have more choices and be a gift to the world. He's got my support... I know he is right.

6/13/The thing most new writers fail to do?

J.P. says... Outline... They don't .

He sold over 300 million books and he did a Masters Class, but its not a silver bullet that ends  your struggle.

If you are serious about writing its just begun.
And it never ends.
Its you favorite pastime.
Maybe you're on Amazon with a book or books, but are they good
enough to make a living.
For me there's no looking back. As long as its free I'm in.

... but it is like he was born writing best sellers. Developing a outline is easy. Takes a  month, and he turns is over to the co-writer. God Bless him for what he gave us.

Tell me your passion.

Your deepest desire, or one of them.

The Theme is....the message of your Book, if it hooks into something you care a lot about , it helps to think about that.

If it is: "Good people should be in government",
or "save the whales." It does not matter.

You need passion to help you stick with it ,
and finish.

Lets pick: Rescue Dogs. Thats your passion.

Your message THEME is....Save a Dog for example.

The Premise is formed like this:

What if a (flawed protagonist) (encountered some problem) and had to (overcome the flaw) to (solve the problem)?

Alcorn, Steve (2012-03-04). How To Fix Your Novel (p. 20). Theme Perks. Kindle Edition.

This is a method taught by Steve Aclorn. It doesn't conflict with Jimmy P. methods as far  as I can tell. It compliments it.

If a man who has a FLAW  owns fighting dogs and is caught by animal control and loses his lively hood and joins the Army and becomes a dog handler in the ARMY but must..... What ?   His flaw has to go , the ARMYS way is respect for the dog/Love.... his disrespect for our four legged friends  Must go....  Any dog trainer out there?.....Help I'm stuck.

  1. I can think of a couple of things, a dog with no respect for humans, they find they must rely on each other to survive????

An untrained dog saves his life, not part of Army program, he's on leave, maybe dog saves someone important to him, He's hunting dog saves him, it is semi wild.

He is somewhere unrelated, he has been told to get his act together, hunting, in wilderness ...

I hope some of these help.

  4. Hi Leon, Another thought, James talks about interviewing, Surly the Army K9 unit, or any local K9 unit must have a publicity person or community liaison person may you can get someone to interview. You just need to get someone who likes to talk. I look forward to reading the book, let me know if you need a sounding board.
